Zaidi Agricultural Center and Al-Qadi for Agricultural Development provides the establishment of nurseries and greenhouses for those who wish to contact us.
The types of greenhouses and their shapes vary, ومن ذلك المشاتل الزراعية، والتي تستخدم في إنتاج أنواع متعددة من شتلات النباتات، ويوفر مركز الزيدية الزراعي و القاضي للتنمية الزراعية العديد من المشاتل الزراعية بأشكالها المختلفة، whether arched, flat, or upright. So what are those nurseries and how are they implemented?
What are agricultural nurseries?
Agricultural nurseries are areas of protected land dedicated to conducting agricultural and breeding operations for a variety of plant seedlings.
All kinds of vegetables are germinated in them and the papaya plant is germinated, and then distributed to the places and entities that wish to cultivate it.
The purpose of establishing agricultural nurseries:
- Nurseries are primarily established to preserve the genetic characteristics of the plants to be cultivated.
- The establishment of nurseries also aims to provide seedlings with excellent specifications, capable of withstanding harsh climatic conditions.
- Where nurseries contribute to providing the appropriate environmental conditions for the production of seedlings from seeds and vegetative parts, in preparation for their distribution and cultivation in greenhouses.
- Increase the number of seedlings planted in new reclamation areas, and supply each area with the seedlings suitable for its climatic conditions.
- As well as providing gardens with the appropriate seedlings for cultivation, and replacing the damaged plants of those gardens by replacing them with new plants and seedlings.
- Operating and training labor, and increasing experience and training.
Steps for establishing a nursery:
Determining the location of the nursery:
- It must be chosen a fertile land, light or medium, and free of harmful salts.
- This is due to the difficulty of plant growth in sandy soil; due to its disintegration, as well as in black soil, because it is very compact, in a way that often prevents the roots from growing.
- It is also necessary to choose a piece of land with good drainage, which allows for the disposal of excess water in it.
- And that this land is exposed to the sun and air, and also away from places of strong winds and storms, so that the leaves of the plants fall or their branches break.
- In the event that the site is threatened by strong winds or storms; Trees can be planted that reduce their damage.
- It should also be taken into account the distance from infected areas or any agricultural areas infected with insects and diseases; So that the infection does not spread to the nursery land.
Planning and designing the nursery land:
The area of the nursery land must be commensurate with the purpose of its establishment, and then a plan (sketch) is made according to a specific drawing scale.
This plan must also include an explanation of the image that the nursery will be on, and the installations that will be established on it, which represent a necessity for the start of greenhouse cultivation (such as greenhouses, heating systems, cooling systems, etc.).
In addition to the above, different seedlings need a set of tools and equipment to carry out their different technical operations inside the nursery, including tools for preparing and planting seeds, tools for servicing the land and separating seedlings, etc.
